About Us.

We are a brass band located in Wardle, near Rochdale, Lancashire. Our band was established in the 1990s and Ranks in the Championship section. Our name, Anderson, is derived from William Anderson, a former Headteacher of Wardle Academy (formerly known as Wardle High School).


In recent years, the band has continued to excel:


2024: They secured the First Section North West Regional Championship title. Promoted To Championship Status.


2023: The band achieved first place in the North West Area (First Section) contest with the test piece "A Day in the Life of a Knight."


2022: Wardle Anderson Brass Band competed in the North West Area (Championship Section) contest, performing "Contest Music." 


These accomplishments highlight the band's dedication and musical excellence over the years.

Remarkable Achievements Across All Bands (2024)

The Wardle family of bands, including the senior Wardle Anderson Brass Band, Wardle Academy Wind Band, and Wardle Academy Youth Band, celebrated a period of outstanding success. The senior band won the First Section North West Regional Championship, while the youth band became the World of Brass National Youth Champions. The community band also saw significant growth in membership

The Wardle Anderson Brass Band was named the "stand-out winners" at the North West Regional Championships in Blackpool, securing first place in the First Section. This victory earned them a spot in the National Finals in Cheltenham. The band was praised for their exceptional performance, particularly their trombone section, which won a special award
